The Mexican lobby card for Theater of Blood with Vincent Price and Diana Rigg(1973). I shamefully admit I wanted to see it, at the time, more for Diana Rigg than Vincent Price. Horror fans, please don't hate me.
It's the Dear Mr. Exhibitor letter, recommending the use of the word "thrill" in place of "horror" that's so interesting. The 1960s must have had something to do with that. Can you dig it?
Still a creepy chiller in composition and style, Black Sunday (La Maschera Del Demonio) is essential viewing for any horror fan worth his or her fangs. Read the over-sized pressbook, then read my review. And for your next party, why not have a "Ghoul Contest?"
I fondly remember watching this movie, waiting patiently to see Batman himself, Adam West. I was disappointed he only did a cameo. But the movie is still memorable. I caught it at the Loew's Oriental on 86th Street in Brooklyn, in 1964. I love the tagline "This film is scientifically authentic..." Sure it is.
