Halloween 2015 Sighted: Walgreens

Some inviting items this year on the shelves at Walgreens. Among the dancing skeletons and animated Medusas, there's an adorable pumpkin pop-up Grim Reaper and a nifty candy dish with a drop-down spider. Giant skull and clown heads will round out any scary decor, and the Day of the Dead and Nightmare Before Christmas decorations get their own endcaps.

Halloween 2014: Walgreens
Animated Rocking Granny
and Haunted Tree

Found some more fun decorations for my Halloween home at Walgreens. This year, so far, has been stellar at providing decorations, blow-ups, and animatronic toys to spook the neighbors with. I’ll have a video of the Animated Rocking Granny (not a granny I’d like to have, mind you) and the Animated Haunted Tree posted soon, but they’re keepers for sure. I couldn’t resist. The large banjo playing skeleton is really cool, too, but I have a smaller version that takes up less space. But definitely a good table topper choice if you’re throwing a party.

Halloween 2012:
Walgreens Animated Ghoulish Coffin Riser

Found these at Walgreens, discounted to half-price! Better grab onto a couple of bats and fly over to the store nearest you before they sell out. The light up skull plays–what else?–the classic theme from Halloween. The clown is the creepiest of the bunch, even just lying there, but when he pops up and screams, well, who doesn't love a creepy, screaming colorful clown on Halloween? I immediately thought of Pennywise the clown from Stephen King's novel, It, when I saw that happy–and toothy–grin. I plan on putting a few candies in the coffin with him and seeing how badly I can get a kid to pee his (or her) costume. Nah, not really. But then again…

Halloween 2011:
Freddy Animated Candy Bowl

I don’t think you’ll have many kids reaching into this Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy Treat Bowl for candy. Yikes. Which is good if you’re running low. Walgreens’ also has a 6 foot hanging Freddy and a shrunken head Freddy. Take your pick. Looks like the copy editor for the packaging was scared away, too, or maybe they’re going for a stuttering-fear effect with “reach into to the bowl and Freddy comes to life.”

How sweet it is.

Halloween 2011:
Walgreens Dracula and Witch
Animated Figures

So far it looks like the stores are going light on Halloween decorations and heavy on the candy. But I did find these delightfully cheery newlyweds at Walgreens. Don't Dracula and his blushing Witch bride make a charming dark couple? And how can you pass up this Jack-in-the-Box Evil Clown? You know, I wonder if there's a subliminal message going on here with those bright, toothy smiles? I mean, with all that candy piled up around them, you'd think they'd have fillings galore, not gleaming Colgate smiles.
