Monster Times Issue 30
February 1974

Issue 30 of The Monster Times gives Long Island a bad rap by providing way too much coverage on The Horror of Party Beach, annoys comic book fans with an assessment of The World's Worst Comics, and goes ape over John Landis's Schlock. Continuing the schlock motif, Joe Kane explores the 1950s teenage-slanted horror movies, with perhaps a bit more negativity than is warranted, and William Grefe (the director of Stanley) is interviewed. The best article is a rundown on all the really bad horror movies we can't seem to forget.

  1. i wish I had a gorilla..
not a real gorilla mind you, but a 50’s b movie one like above 😀
& isn’t the horror of party beach monster the one with all the hotdogs sticking out of his mouth? what’s with that..lol?!

  2. I vaguely remember seeing it a long time ago. I dread wasting time to watch it now, but that hotdogs thing has grabbed my interest. Maybe I’ll dip a toe in the water and watch it. Maybe. Those sand and song movies never worked too well for me.

  3. mst3k has a good version of that one, & the old ‘it came from hollywood’ 1982 included it.. i’m sure it was gilda radner who suggested they were hotdogs.. 🙂
