The Inhuman Squishy Zombie!
at Target Stores
I see this out of the corner of my eye, in Target, and I'm blown away. Time was I used to shop for toys, now I only shop for domestic-related stuff like cleaner, high-fiber cereal, toilet tissue, you know, the boring but essential stuff. I miss shopping for toys. Especially when cool stuff like this Inhuman Squishy Zombie from Smart Lab beckons to the kid in me. Hell, its got removable limbs and flesh, too! And it comes with a coloring book to "bring your zombie to life!"
The Haunted Toybox:
The Lost FX of MAXx FX
I recently downloaded the second issue of The Haunted Toybox and read this MAXx FX article reprinted here. MAXx FX was a fantastic toy idea that didn’t survive the marketing monster. But now, with Face Off and the heightened interest in makeup and special effects, I think it’s time to revisit Max Miracle, Master of Make-UP and Special Effects. Issue two also has articles on Monster 500 (which had me running off to Toys R Us to find them; and I did), and Rat Fink and Rad Rods (which made me drool). Johnny Lightning’s Creepsters (wish TRU had continued that line) and a lot more is stuffed into the issue, too. With permission from the mad toymaniacs at The Haunted Toybox here’s The Lost FX of MAXx FX.

Dracula and Frankenstein
Golden Frame-Tray Puzzles 1991
Don't you wish you could just get up and go like Dracula? How does he do it? I love the little hankie tucked into his coat pocket. Does he really need to blow his nose? Maybe all that dirt's moldy and he has an allergy. The Frankenstein Monster's my favorite iconic image, of Glenn Strange strapped to an operating table; although he appears a lot more animated here than he usually does in the movies.
