Note the reference to Julio Verne. "More startling than Jules Verne" appears on the American promotional material, too. I'm not sure why his name was chosen to hype the movie.
Note the el mito del sexo (the myth of the sex) angle pushed on the lobby card. A sexual theme runs through the movie, but it's impetus comes from conditions of dominance, predation, and desperation. Onibaba is a noirish tale of lingering evils that's creepy as hell.
I always envied David Selby's sideburns and long hair. Now more than ever. This movie, Night of Dark Shadows, less so. Then again, I wouldn't mind having Grayson Hall's hair, either.
The inimitable German Robles and a colorful, sophisticated illustration provide the menace in another beautiful example of Mexican lobby card movie promotion.
Simply superb, from the positioning of the masked gunfighter to the nibbling werewolf (or immensely hirsute individual, anyway). Gives me goosebumps just looking at it.
