The Bowery Boys get into trouble. Again. Wonderful action scene photo pasted onto this one color lobby card is attention-grabbing. The layout conveys camaraderie and adventure, a little danger, and comedy.

Fascinating illustration: the shark is not so much a reflection in the diver's mask, as it first appears, but the position over his left eye implies they are "eye to eye," which creates tension, danger, and interest to see the movie.

This one is not in my collection–yet. It sold at a Heritage Auction. While we watched Superman with George Reeves on television, the episodes were packaged as movies for audiences outside the U.S.

One of the video nasties, when the UK fretted over such things, a doctor keeps taking eyes without asking. His daughter can't see what all the fuss is about. Richard Basehart plays the crazed doctor and Lance Henriksen lends a scalpel. The artwork on this very larger Mexican lobby card, printed on thin slick paper, is sophisticated in both style and fear factor and is from the US poster art.

A bit of promotional stretching here: 2019: After the Fall of New York is the correct title for this 1983 Sergio Martino directed opus. John Carpenter's 1981 Escape from New York must have done well at the Mexican box office, so why not fake a sequel to make a few more bucks?

When you have to face down Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein's monster, and the Mummy, who you gonna call? The Monster Squad! A remake was in the air for a while, but you'd have to have the Wolf Man's nards to dare such a thing with a cult classic. What I'd like to see is a continuation: Frankie needs to be rescued by the grown up kids of the original kids. And who says Dracula and the ghoul gang are done?
