Movie Scene:
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein

A wonderfully evocative scene showcasing Bela Lugosi and Glenn Strange in their iconic horror roles. Lugosi was perfect at playing the timing and the mechanics of both straight and funny horror roles, and his Dracula persona here is an excellent example of his ability to lighten up or go darker as needed for the role (any role) he was given.

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
Part 8

Zombos Says: Classic

The greatest defense against the terrors of the night is laughter. When the fears that once scared us, and the horrors, baying on the doorstep, are rendered harmless with chuckles, and toothless with mirth, they become powerless to control us. The classic Universal Monsters were never really that frightening, but the world they lived in was. It was an old world, one steeped in mysteries of supernatural intentions mixing with scientific unknowns.
